OK Egg Farm is Waterloo Region’s only egg grading station serving approximately forty smaller, local egg producers in the area. Owned and operated by Loel and Phyllis Penner, OK Egg Farm is a third generation farm in Woolwich Township. Though no longer an egg producer, OK Egg Farm picks up local farmers' eggs and proceeds with the washing, grading, candling, packaging and distribution of some 30,000 dozen eggs per week. That’s a lot of omelettes!
Encouraging the ‘buy local’ philosophy, OK provides consumers with many opportunities to purchase locally-produced eggs. They are available at their farm just north of Elmira, from the Kitchener Market, and from several local stores in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and Cambridge areas. You might even be eating one of OK’s graded eggs at one of your favourite local restaurants.
Eggs aren’t the only round edible objects available for sale at OK Egg Farm. If the timing and season is right, local apples can also be found at OK Egg Farm.
