I'm a big ramen fan. Benkei is a worthwhile noodle shop. The inside is like most ramen/noodle restaurants: small-ish, wood tables and seats/benches, and a little noisy due to the size (don't plan on relaxed conversation here). The shoyu ramen was white and milky, the...way it should be. The broth was unctuous and left that light fatty residue on the lips that only rendered marrow seems to be capable of (the marrow is completely liquified, so no worries for the texture-shy). The chashu (pork belly) was spot on, salty and fatty to pair with the fresh noodles. My wife's akaoni ramen was spicy without too much kick. All the side dishes (gyoza and kimchi) were clearly made in house as well. We were just passing through or we'd be regulars every time a ramen fix hit us.
