Tucked away on Toronto’s Mercer Street, Victor Restaurant serves a chef-driven menu featuring modern takes on classic dishes, delicious cocktails, and a refined wine and beer list. With its chic yet approachable atmosphere, Victor is the perfect destination for a pre-theatre dinner, family dinner or a romantic nightcap.
Other than the fact the room was cold (had to keep my jacket on) and the lobby noise was distracting (TIFF event), we enjoyed our dinner consisting of the duck breast and the perch almandine. Both dishes were nicely presented, flavourful and perfectly prepared. Enjoyed the chocolate dessert by Nadege. Service was attentive and helpful. The room decor is very nice and, were it not for the fact that it was fully open to the lobby, would have felt intimate. Perhaps a seat further away from the entrance would have been more comfortable.
One of the best kept secrets in the city for dining and private events!
Culinary skill was evident in our plates! Service was attentive! Portions were small. Prices were high. Thus, a four star rating!
Food was really good and portions size too. The decor was lovely. However the ambiance was lacking a little bit. It was too quiet and you could hear everyone’s conversations.
The four of us had another superb dinner at Victor. Everything about the experience was perfect: cuisine, presentation, wine choices, ambiance, and absolutely wonderful service. Two of us ordered the Wild Boar special and absolutely loved it. Highly recommended!
I always come to Victor when I am craving a burger – I think it is the best in the city! We had the most amazing experience when my friend and I came for dinner the other night. Bella was our waitress and she was beyond lovely. Her positivity made our entire experience that much better!
We had all just arrived in Toronto and were tired. We didn’t want to eat a lot, so we asked to share various dishes. the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was very accommodating and kind. We stayed at Le Germain as well, so we had the breakfast buffet as well both days. All lovely. Thanks.
Food was excellent and not over priced. Very impressive!
Loved it. We have been several times before and we are always pleased. The wine pairings were particuilarly delicious this time. Try the Oregan Syrah! Soft, smooth, yet full-bodied.
Fantastic venue, great food and brilliant service
Incredibly good service and the food was delicious. It was like eating in France – fresh and few ingredients, allowing for wonderful flavours. I’ve if the few restaurants out that that doesn’t ruin the taste with unnecessary garlic.
Great cocktails and delicious food. I love the vibe of this place.
We dined at 5:30 pm on a Friday prior to theatre. The restaurant was not busy which meant noise levels were low and service attentive. 1/2 price bottles of wine on Fridays is a very nice perk. We really enjoyed the food. We split a grilled shrimp with crab cake app. Our entrees were blackened rainbow trout and wild boar tenderloin. Both were very good. Desserts are not made on site but they were tasty. The restaurant is quite close to the theatres on King St, but being on a side street and in a hotel lobby (St Germain Mercer St) , it is a relaxing locale away from the bustle of King St. The decor of the restaurant was thoughtful and I really enjoyed having an easy conversation without the high noise levels present in a lot of restaurants.
Went for an early dinner after theatre matinee. Awesome service and food. Beautiful room.
A pre-Theatre dinner. Dressed up so wanted a restaurant to complement the experience. Local construction, likely to continue well into 2021, didn’t bode well but once inside the hotel, things improved. Very good service and excellent food. Very pricy wine list unfortunately, and the restaurant lighting was on the bright side. Our server made sure we weren’t rushing to get to our performance on time.
Excellent food and service! Will definitely go back next time we are in town!
Food and atmosphere were perfect for our valentines day. Our server happily allowed us a more private table switch that allowed us to sit side by side. Food was excellent and prompt, our server was patient and helpful, and wine was half-price on Fridays, which certainly helped with my Valentine’s Day spending.
Ambiance is very nice here. Small restaurant for a hotel but attentive staff. Explained the food very well. Took care of our food restrictions. The sea bass and scallop as a main were both very nice. Oysters in the app were fresh. Prawn appetizer had every nice taste with the crab cake at the bottom. Very indulgent.
Valentine’s dinner was exceptional. Intimate dining with small seating and quiet, the ambiance was complemented by the marvelous dishes paired with some lovely wines. A+
Food was amazing, service wasn’t very friendly. Would still go back.
we have a shrimp for app , it was okay , the sea bass I would prefer crispy skin but they but the sauce on top , then again , both of the sauces are tomatoes cubes based , kinda boring , the wild boar was really good , and amazing bread pudding , warm and soft , the bourbon sauce was perfect not too sweet . Really enjoy here 🙂
Great service, friendly and attentive. We had blackened Trout ends creamy backed cauliflower. Delicious!
I rsvp’d for 2 for a birthday, but they sat us in a huge booth right next to a corporate event, it was so loud and we couldn’t even hear each other talk. Had to request a seat change.
