Read in the Hamilton Spectator that the Galley Pump was offering breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Tried it first on a Sunday with my grown son, Next, also Sunday with my Husband. The food has always been good if not the atmosphere. To my surprise…It was newly painted, the tables also new and well spaced. If you have ever tried to have a comfortable conversation with your table mates at Sunday brunch and given up because of the surrounding noise, This is the place, The meal is very good and reasonable. The menu is limited but offers everything you could want from a breakfast. One choice is 3 eggs, bacon or sausage, home fries, and two slices white, whole wheat or rye toast for $5.99 coffee is 1.50 extra with free refill. Everything is cooked to perfection, nicely served and with a piece of fresh fruit on the side. On both but not last, trips, there were families, young and mature couples, and singles. It gets an A+ from me. Karen C.

Stopped for a bite with some friends on our way to Niagara Falls, was pleasantly surprised to have a great little Country Band playing some oldies to go with my food.

This place was closed for a while but open again with new owners.

This place was closed for a while but open again with new owners. Limited menu but great deal on Wednesday for wings. They have half price wings, nice size and good portion. The wings are only 9 bucks to start with, so you get an…order for $4.50. Drafts are only $4.50 as well tax in. So on a Wednesday all day you could get a order and a pint for less than 10 bucks.

The food is very reasonable, nothing fancy but tasty. The live music is some of the best around with The Rockets on some nights, Mark LaForme on Saturday afternoon matinees. We always have a great time when we go, and the staff are lovely!

Found ourselves in the Hamilton area and decided at the request of our son to eat lunch at the tavern. I was slightly reluctant but am glad we decided to try it out. The food was excellent as was the service. The inside reveals the…tavern’s age but feels very comfortable and dare I say ‘rustic’. Another bonus, no loud music blaring. Washrooms nice and clean. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, the tavern has warmth, charm and a welcoming atmosphere – would gladly have lunch there again.

The décor is a bit dated, however, this place has some of the best prices on home cooking. It is an welcoming spot, with great live music & karaoke nights (pre-pandemic). Try their Greek Poutine or their Club Sandwich combo!
