I ordered the spider roll but they were out, so I chose the volcano roll – which I discovered was spicy – I try not to pick spicy rolls so I don't know how I missed that.

I ordered the spider roll but they were out, so I chose the volcano roll – which I discovered was spicy – I try not to pick spicy rolls so I don’t know how I missed that… They have an extensive menu with too much…choice – how can any restaurant be that good at making so many different things? My roll came with a decorative dry ice thing… but the roll itself was typical for a sushi place… nothing special. In addition, my companion received his entire meal way before me… I understand that the volcano roll is baked and may take a little longer. I wouldn’t come back here – there are too many average sushi places in Vancouver, and I’d rather go somewhere nice.

With only 1 server on hand for a full restaurant, the service was understandably slow.

With only 1 server on hand for a full restaurant, the service was understandably slow. We waited around 30-40 minutes to get our food. The food itself was very good and thus holding up to expectations. Was it worth the wait? Maybe. The food wasn’t…out of this world, however it was of good quality and quantity for the price. The place has a nice atmosphere with low tables, high tops and a patio that is tastefully done. The server was friendly, but barely entered into conversation due to being insanely busy.

I live in Vancouver and have eaten at many sushi places.

I live in Vancouver and have eaten at many sushi places. Among the affordable ones, Sushi Ville on the Drive is one of the best IMO. We visited in October 2018 and ordered 4 different rolls and some sushi pieces, all with raw fish. We…substituted farm salmon for wild salmon for just $1. The food was very fresh (we both commented on it), delicious, and beautifully served. Servers were friendly. Tea refills could have been more frequent but overall, I was very impressed Sushi Ville and will definitely come back!More

We decided to go for a walk on Commercial drive and have a late lunch.

We decided to go for a walk on Commercial drive and have a late lunch. the boys said sushi would be good and Sushi Ville was right there. We went in it was not very busy, the lunch rush was over. for Victoria day Monday….We were seated. this is not a very big restaurant. Seating is a little tight. We ordered off their rather large menu. prices for some rolls seemed good, at $2.50 each. We ordered Tuna sashimi 8 pieces, it was good and large pieces. The California rolls, tuna rolls , salmon rolls were on the smaller size. IT all was good, just on the small size. Negatives that lowered their score was there were three of us. My son’s Chicken teriyaki came out first, my sushi plate came out second and my other son’s sushi plate came out last. we must have waited 5 mins in between each person plate. It would have been nice if they brought out our food closer to each others. Service was a little strange. They also did not provide us any tea. I finally had to ask for a cup of tea. The volcano on the plate was a fun touch. Washroom was fine except the soap dispenser was almost empty. It is also a unisex washroom. I also noticed a bunch of plastic tubs on the ground, outside the kitchen filled with dirty dishes. May it was the lunch time rush dishes? I will go back and try again some day.

I had the dynamite bento box for lunch today.
4.0.0

I had the dynamite bento box for lunch today. The bill was just under $13 for lunch. Nice location on commercial drive a short distance from the broadway and commercial drive metro stop. The dynamite roll, chicken teriyaki, salad, miso soup, mixed tempura, and green…tea were all very good. I will have lunch here again. A pleasant place for lunch. The service was also very good and my order came out from the kitchen right on time.

Avoid this place at any cost.

Avoid this place at any cost. It’s dirty, unorganized, chaotic and super slow. Food quality is mediocre at best which means at least we didn’t get sick.

We were looking fora quick bite and ended up here because our usual place had already closed.

We were looking fora quick bite and ended up here because our usual place had already closed. What a lucky surprise. These guys are open until 11pm Sun to Thurs and until midnight Fri, Sat.Great hours, great service. The place used to be a garage,…I guess because two walls have roll up doors. It’s neat, clean, accessible I have to come back here in the summer. It must be like an open air sushi patio there. Good news. This place is also licensed. The sushi here is fresh, delicious and includes all of your favourites as well as some unexpected new rolls to try. Sushi Ville does dine in, take out and even larger party trays. I had tp try the chicken cheese roll. My wife loved the deep fried California roll. The kids had the sashimi. Of course, we shared and compared. Come find your favouritesMore

Certainly one of the better sushi places on “The Drive,” Sushi Ville offers a surprisingly large menu, at a suprisingly low cost. Some people expect fast food, but to be fair, that’s not what Sushi Ville offers. Taking no short-cuts, you can watch them prepare…your order from scratch. Still, most of the time, they are pretty quick, and any of the standard offerings will stand up well to any sushi place you can name. With some of the more elaborate menu items, you will get an artistic presentation that is nothing short of delightful. Special sushi tends to be on the sweet side, and if that’s your thing, you’ll be more than satisfied. I usually stick to California rolls, tempura or a bento box. If you are short of time, don’t come expecting fast food. Just call ahead –Sushi Ville has a considerable following of take-out customers.

Very pleasant surprise Re presentation! And delicious rolls! Very fresh. Crunch roll one of best Ive ever had! As another reviewer says it’s not fast food-need to have time to relax and enjoy. Kind servers- felt COVID safe. Partitions still up. Was busy and lots…of take out orders. A nice atmosphere as well. Fun for kids with them using dry ice!!More
