We were really impressed with the quality of the sushi at this restaurant as well as with the bang for your buck.

We were really impressed with the quality of the sushi at this restaurant as well as with the bang for your buck. We ordered a sampler plate of everything from rice and teriyaki beef to sushi to tempura and it was all delicious along with…the other roles we got. We figured for the price it would not be a huge amount, be we were wrong. There was tons and it was delicious!More

Went here on a whim with some friends – we were looking for a place to go for dinner and saw it when walking around downtown Vancouver. There was an open window and stair leading down to the restaurant within. Excellent smells were wafting out…so my friends said we should go. I am glad we did – very exceptional sushi. I had a tsunomono salad and one roll, both were exceptional. I highly recommend this place!More

Most of the patrons are regulars and local working folk.

Most of the patrons are regulars and local working folk. The portions are generous. Their sushi and sashimi is excellent. Service was quick and accommodating. When I spilled water on the floor, the waitress rushed to clean it before my napkin hit the floor.

Small and cozy Japanese restaurant along Dunsmuir Street.
4.0.0

Small and cozy Japanese restaurant along Dunsmuir Street. We shared several plates of Sushi and I had my favorite Japanese comfort meal – the Unagi Don, that was very nicely prepared in a Japanese lacquered bento box, served with plenty of Unagi (grilled eel) and…side dish of pickles and a Chawanmushi (egg soup). A very enjoyable lunch here as the Japanese hostess was very friendly and attentive!More

We came here after waiting for food for an hour and a half in the pub next door.

We came here after waiting for food for an hour and a half in the pub next door. They forgot our order, so we had to walk out and decided to come here instead for some quick food as we were starving by this point….The food here was served quickly and I’m happy to say it was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever had such nice sushi rolls and prawn tempura, really good value too. Would highly recommend this friendly joint.

Good Sushi , bento boxes, for the most part.
4.0.0

Good Sushi , bento boxes, for the most part. Its a small basement sushi restaurant located behind Cactus Club in Dunsmuir and Burrard. If youre looking for a cheap sushi alternative go here. This is mostly full on weekdays lunch hour. They are open Saturdays…now. I just didnt love the black and brown rice because its hard and gummy..i complained and not sure if they have improves that. Other than that..all the things i tasted are good and the portions are also acceptable. Enjoy!More

Came for lunch.
1.0.0

Came for lunch. Despite it being very busy lunch spot favourite by the locals. The food was terrible quality and service was non existent. They screwed up our order and made little to no effort to fix Food tasted pathetic. Can you believe bad sushi…in Vancouver!? dry rice , over cooked tempura Bad service Pass on this place. In Vancouver you only need to walk a few steps to find another.

Surprisingly good especially for the relatively low price point.

Surprisingly good especially for the relatively low price point. Went for lunch with a buddy. Ordered the sashimi and beef teriyaki bento box which included 3 or 4 pieces of salmon and tuna sashimi, small salad, couple of orange quarters, 2 prawn tempura and 2…vegetable tempura, for just over $13. Also had an order of toro sashimi for $10 for 6 pieces. Everything was excellent. Toro was outstanding, though pieces were quite thin. The room is not great however as it is in a basement and quite small with spartan furnishings. The rent savings are definitely passed on to the customer. Service was quick and polite in cafeteria style ordering procedure. Looks like most people take out here given the less than spectacular ambiance. I would definitely return though. Excellent valueMore
