Milkcow

Totally unexpected treat. They serve a frozen soft serve milk. It is not overly sweetened (imagine cereal milk). A choice of unique toppings are available. I had the organic honey on the first visit and nutella, sea salt and malteasers on the second. Both amazing!

Milkcow is a quaintly Korean ice cream place that brings freshness in more ways than one. The shop itself is bright, clean and friendly, with cute pictures of cows everywhere. The staff are very nice, especially the manager, a young Asian guy who took a…lot of time to explain things to us and to make sure that we were happy. The ice cream itself is fresh in a way that’s hard to describe. Because they use fresh cow’s milk, there’s a certain mouthfeel that’s a little fuller than what you usually get from ice cream. It’s difficult to explain, but it’s pretty neat. The soft serve ice cream is complemented by several flavours of syrups and drizzled, including some interesting variations, one of which is a superbly Instagrammable cotton candy (real cotton candy!) I walked by the store front and was intrigued. Of course it didn’t hurt that it was a blistering hot day and ice-cream seemed fitting. I had a simple soft ice cream with no toppings. It was delicious and a very fair serving size for…the price. The staff were friendly and welcoming and I sat inside and enjoyed the wonderful frozen treat. Very good quality and flavour.
