The food was phenomenal and well priced. The service was professional and you could tell they really cared about your experience. A refreshing experience in today’s dining experience. Although my only feedback would be that the server did not wear a mask and often came to close for comfort during a pandemic. In normal times it would have been fine.

As always, Laurent makes an exceptional meal a fully realized culinary delight.

Our New Year’s Eve dinner was exquisite. The food, service and attention to detail couldn’t have been better. Highly recommended.

Divine We don’t even look at the menu, we leave all decisions trusting for Laurent to bring…every morsel melting in our mouths, and the wines = exquisite!! Bravo ? ?

Booked a reservation as had read good reviews. Arrived to see the waiter/host speaking to a table with his mask below his mouth. He finished with the table, brought the mask up to under his nose and then came to greet us. He left to check on our table and returned this time with the mask completely below his mouth. He stood very closely, without his mask and informed us the table would be ready in 5 minutes. We left, and did not return for dinner as we did not feel safe with regards to the COVID protocols in place.

We very much enjoyed our meal. The ambience was a bit too quiet for our taste on a Friday evening We had the scallops as an appetizer and lamb for dinner – both very good. The Apple Cinnamon Tartlet was exquisite. Our waiter was very helpful, and attentive. The restaurant was very chilly so bring a sweater.

Fantastic restaurant. Great service and food at a very reasonable price considering the quality. Food quality and attentiveness of service very much reminded us of similar meals we had in Paris bistros. Haven’t experienced another restaurant like it in Victoria.

All I can say is wow! Must try the VIP dinner!! Best meal ever!

COVID restrictions have affected the typical ambiance of all our favourite restaurants – the sounds of laughter and animated conversations – so we look forward to the time when Joie will be full again. This restaurant is a treasure! Having discovered it, we plan to go back many times — it reminds us of our favourite restaurants in France, to which we’ve not travelled for over a year.

One of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant . Outstanding and owners was awesome in his suggestions and overall customer service.

A really lovely evening. We enjoyed the Chef’s Table. The food and wine were delicious and the portions of both were generous! George was a warm and gracious host.

Not the best location and we didn’t get a great table either.It was to close to the bussing station so there was some clatter . Since there was only the owner serving things were a bit slower but the food made up for that!

So delicious, hard to decide on a meal. Amazing service.

This wasn’t just a meal, it was a dining experience! Highly recommend and will return!
