For the first time ever, we went to one of the Floyd’s Diners for lunch, just because we happened to be nearby when we got hungry.

For the first time ever, we went to one of the Floyd’s Diners for lunch, just because we happened to be nearby when we got hungry. We were warmly and enthusiastically welcomed and taken to a nice table even though it was the busy lunch…hour. The daily soup was Broccoli Cheddar and it was full of flavour – way better than an ordinary bowl of soup. The Veggie Hash was great because the potatoes were still chunky, not mushed as they often are. All the staff we interacted with were super friendly and created an extremely welcoming environment even though they were quite busy. Great service combined with great food makes this a real winner. We will definitely go back.

I ordered the day's special, which was a taco with chorizo sausage, scrambled eggs, and taco sauce.

I ordered the day’s special, which was a taco with chorizo sausage, scrambled eggs, and taco sauce. I liked how they served on a type of taco stand so that it was easier to eat, despite being filled full. The chorizo was nice. So were…their medallion shaped potatoes. My partner had their lower priced breakfast of scrambled eggs w. toast….and although one of the toasts was burnt, the rest was good. Liked the coffee…but $4 does seem high for coffee. Mind you, they did give free refills. The service was slow but friendly. We sat on the patio which was a nice atmosphere—although they probably didn’t need the classic rock music playing through tinny sounding speakers.

We have been going to various locations of Floyd's diner for a long time, the food is good, the prices are reasonable.

We have been going to various locations of Floyd’s diner for a long time, the food is good, the prices are reasonable. Recently we were there and I ordered a latte. I took a couple drinks and felt somthing chunky in my mouth. I spit…it out and it was a dead black bug with lots of legs, either an ant or a fly?, it was not tiny. My brother looked horrified because he was drinking a latte as well. He called the server over and I gave him the bug, he gave a quick apology, tossed the bug on the floor and made me a new drink. We started looking around us and noticed that the place was quite dirty, the wide window sills were littered with dead bugs and debris. At the end we received our check and was charged for everything! I don’t know about you but if I owned a restaurant and someone ordered a drink and ended up with a nasty black bug in their mouth, I would absolutely make sure not to charge them for it. I can’t help but wonder what the kitchen is like, are there dead bugs laying around on the counters? Like there is on all the window sills in the dining room? HmmmMore

Stopped by Floyd's as we were heading out of town to catch the ferry.

Stopped by Floyd’s as we were heading out of town to catch the ferry. We arrived early in the morning, with a pet, and so had to sit outside, but our waiter, who was awesome was there with coffee to help keep us warm. The…menu is great, two of us had chicken and waffle benny’s and the third had a more traditional breakfast, 2 eggs, and 2 of three proteins. You will not leave hungry. Great location, excellent food, and super service.
