We went there & kinda surprised to discover their lunch set: lots of food & good taste. We would come back to try their bbq & other meals on the menu. For now, I rate 4* thanks to this good & cheap lunch set &…their nice waitresses.

My family and I went there to have the all you can eat Korean bbq.
1.0.0

My family and I went there to have the all you can eat Korean bbq. After reviewing the menu, one of the family members decided not to have the all you can eat and instead ordered off the menu. The waitress took the order and…walked away. Seeing her discussing our order with her colleague she comes back to the table to advise us that she will charge us for 3 people for the all you can eat if this person eats any piece of meat from the bbq. We told her she ordered off the menu and will not eating from the all you can eat. She did not understand and again repeated she will charge us for 3 people. We asked her if the order was too difficult and if she wanted us to leave. She says no but again does not understand the order. We decided to leave. She implied that we were going to cheat them out of their money by paying for only 2 People and allowing the 3rd person to eat it as well. We are middle aged people and we would not even think about doing that. I am born and raised in Vancouver and have never been so disrespected by a waitress like that before. I strongly suggest not to visit this restaurant as there is so many other restaurants to choose from on the street.

Family happened upon this restaurant. Food was delicious! Never had Korean food before. Ordering was a bit of a guessing game for us but we enjoyed everything we ordered. Tasty! Spicy! Loved it!

I'm at a loss.
5.0.0

I’m at a loss… So why 3.5? My friend was visiting from out of town and we were rooting for the best Korean BBQ restaurant on Robson. There were 4 of us. At first, we were very wary of trying Dae Bak Bon Ga because…of the rating so we opted to go to Sura instead. Sura had a long queue and we were hungry so we climbed the hill back to Dae Bak Bon Ga. Upon entering, we noticed that there were only a few tables occupied in this Korean BBQ place. Each table had it’s own BBQ grill and hotpot burner. We sat down. The menu was well worn, many hands have leafed through the pages. There were many items to choose from, the regular Korean BBQ meats and all the traditional Korean stews and pancakes. I did not want to focus on meats that are served elsewhere. I just wanted the specials! Smoked Duck BBQ, a menu item not found in other Korean restaurants. We also ordered the marinated chicken and it came in 4 huge pieces. What was surprising is that one of the hot Korean servers stood there and cooked the best for us. Then, urged us to eat when the meat was just right. We also had soft tofu stew with seafood (sundubu), seafood pancake (haemul pajeon), traditional Korean rice cake (teokbogi), samgye tang ginseng chicken stew, naengmyeon Korean cold noodle in cold beef broth, Korean miso soup and a bunch of bancan. The food…. 5 out of 5. OMG. The service? Crazy…. Never had such service. Happy that we tried this place!More

We were craving for some Korean BBQ so we chose this place.
3.0.0

We were craving for some Korean BBQ so we chose this place. The location is really nice and the service was friendly as well although some of them didn’t seem to speak English. We ordered from the “all you can eat” menu and it was…good. They have a big variety and the meat was fresh as well. Cannot be compared to actual BBQ in Korea but this was pretty decent.

Smh .
1.0.0

Smh ….Worst Saturday night experience. What was going on with the music? The Pop music was loud and overbearing, it was really not the tone or atmosphere you’d expect paying for a nice Korean BBQ dinner. On top of that the food was bland. The…meat was extremely fatty and tasteless. Also, over the duration of our entire meal the waiter never came back to refill our so desperately needed waters, not once. But lucky for them the tip was included in the bill. If you’re looking to fry meat with a headache this is your spot.

Came in on a Wednesday night, lucky to find a metered parking right outside the restaurant!

Came in on a Wednesday night, lucky to find a metered parking right outside the restaurant! Not busy at all as there were only 2 other tables at the time when we arrive, we were promptly seated after we use our cellphone to register our…info. for Covid purposes, glad they are doing this! Also noticed that all the tables are spaced apart and has partitions! After we received our “real” menu, we decided to try out their top 3 popular meats: Beef Ribs, Ox Tongue & Pork Belly, our server Moon has been wonderful and very helpful, he also explained to us how some items compares to others etc. I have to say the Beef Rib is a must order when you come! The marinate is just right, not too sweet or salty! The marbling is well balanced, hence the natural tenderness! We loved it so much that we ordered a second! Ox tongue were ok, if they were sliced a bit thicker, also love their Pork Belly, as you can tell they do use high quality meat, they all have a natural sweetness even the pork has no seasoning at all! Just sprinkle a bit of the salt they provide and its already perfection! BBQ meals comes with: side dishes ( replenishable ), japchae, seafood pancake, savoury steamed custard. We were told if you wish rice it is $2.00 each and it comes with a bean paste soup. Overall experience was great, as service were very attentive and especially our Server “Moon” made the evening more enjoyable!More

AVOID!
1.0.0

AVOID! This place is a joke, but this review is not. AVOID the All You Can Eat – EXPENSIVE and you will leave HUNGRY! Very POOR VALUE for money! Their All You Can Eat is like a DISHONEST carnival game that’s designed for you to…lose. Staff will deliberately: slow roll the food, enforce strict 2 hour time limit, and cancel your last order without warning or last call. BEWARE Staff will get defensive! To inconvenience your cooking as much as possible: staff will only give 1 pair of tongs, DULL scissors which do not cut, and constantly replace your bbq grates with ICE COLD grates. AWFUL cooking experience! The service was so SLOW even though the restaurant was almost EMPTY and they were not busy. Tables are NOT adequately socially distanced or divided by barriers. Washrooms are dank and wet, even by Vancouver standards. There are so many other Korean restaurants in Lower Mainland with better food, better prices and better service! Vancouver locals save your your money and your breath. (Nov 2021)More
