My wife and I ate at the cafe just looking for a small meal.
4.0.0

My wife and I ate at the cafe just looking for a small meal. The staff were very attentive and we did not have to look for service. We shared fish and chips and a small pasta carbonara and were pleased with the quantity and…quality presented. There is a choice of either indoor or outdoor dining. Great location and eating outside gave us plenty to see as we ate our dinner. Pricing was reasonable.

I was in Vancouver for UBCM and walked past this inviting looking restaurant twice thinking I should give it a try. Well, a local friend of mine tracked me down one day and suggested we meet for dinner one night and I suggested here. I…got there early and sat outside under a giant umbrella with heaters watching people scurry about in the rain. My friend arrived and we were instantly greeted and well taken care of by Jiri, a very attentive waiter. I had the salmon special while my friend had a pasta dish. Both were simply amazing. Jiri was very interesting to chat with and we all had a great time getting to know each other a little more. This restaurant is well worth a stop. The harbour view of the cruise ships and Canada Place is wonderful and I will definitely be back here again. Highly recommended! Thanks!More

With such a great location I expected better for breakfast (I have had dinner her a few times and it was good).

With such a great location I expected better for breakfast (I have had dinner her a few times and it was good). First off for an Italian restaurant one would think that the ITALIAN omelet with prosciutto wouldn’t actually be deli black forrest ham -…we asked and were ignored as the server said he was pretty sure it supposed to be just ham and had to check the menu (never came back). My wife is also a celiac so this now becomes an issue – Thank you for the ALLERGIC REACTION and ruining our day here in Vancouver cause you didn’t care. The eggs benny was standard – no choice on your egg cook just comes med/hard and a few hash brown scattered around the plate – having said this I ate it. Oh and if THE SERVER offers to make a sub on your dish they charge and you find out after.

Visited here while on an across Canada trip on 25th September. We were seated outside. Had a large glass of Peroni. Our mains were Fish and Chips and Baggio Pizza. Bill came to $52.72. Service was fine.

Bellaggio Café has a great location: right next to the Convention Centre West and pretty close to the CC East and Canada Place. It has a heated, covered, outdoor patio with views of the North Shore and the cruise ships docked at Canada Place. The…decor and atmosphere are nice. The best part is that they’re at 7:30 for breakfast! Eggs benny and avocado toast were good. The breakfast menu is one of my photos.

My first negative review.
1.0.0

My first negative review… I messaged them about two months ago, and have heard nothing back. So now I’m warning others. Definitely the worst food I’ve had in Downtown Vancouver…and possibly… well, anywhere. I took my wife out for her birthday to the Bellagio at…the convention centre with the whole family. Mussels are sooooo salty! The tomatoes cooked with it taste like chicken, making the mussels also taste more like chicken than any type of seafood. I’m an amateur chef, but mussels are not a hard recipe to perfect. A little water and cream, garlic and lemon. The Calamari: If Mac Donalds served Calamari it would taste exactly like this. Actually, pretty indistinguishable from Jack in the Box onion rings. Totally fast food deep fryer vibe. Edemane was probably from the Costco pack you toss in the microwave for 3 minutes, they were as suspected but is sad when the best thing we ordered was the Edamame. I honestly, don’t know how they are still in business, they definitely don’t get regular customers, which is probably how they survive. The tourists, who won’t be returning anyway, boarding the cruise ships are only a block away.

Bellaggio is a nice spot near the water, close to the Vancouver Convention Centre, to get desserts and interesting coffee, tea and hot chocolate selections.

Bellaggio is a nice spot near the water, close to the Vancouver Convention Centre, to get desserts and interesting coffee, tea and hot chocolate selections. I selected the Nutella Hot Chocolate at 7:50 $. As it came in a smaller cup with lots of cream…it was not as hot as I would have liked it but I can see how one has to be careful with this combination. Perhaps bigger, taller cups? I paired it with chocolate crepes at 8$, which came with a good sprinkling of strawberries and blueberries. As it was happy hour and I got chatting with a couple socially distanced away, I saw an Aperol Spritzer at 6:50$ and, as they were delicious, I had two. My bill came to 30.25$ before tip. It is open for breakfast and lunch and closes at 6pm but may open later with summer. My two severs were attentive and a nice late afternoon was had. Posted by S FullerMore
