We decided to eat here because it was on the way to Richmond. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall at the Northwest corner of West 49th Avenue and Oak Street. We arrived around 12:20. The restaurant had about half a dozen customers...and has seating for more than 45 customers. My spouse ordered the #18 regular size chicken pho. I ordered the regular #15 Pho Dac Biet – steak, beef brisket, tendon and tripe. Each order cost $9.20. The total bill before tips came to $19.11. The beef broth was just okay; nothing really to complain about although it was darker than others I’ve seen. I thought there should have been a few more pieces of meat but that wasn’t the case. There was no noticeable dry mouth syndrome normally associated with the use of the flavour enhancer MSG. We were in and out in about an hour. The service was for the most part prompt as we were served water right away and the meal arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. It is a good place for a quick lunch if you can find parking. The pricing was reasonable and the portion sizes were good; the same can’t be said about the amount of protein. Overall, I would rate the food experience – food, service and portion size – 3 out of 5. Notes and Tips: •
