My family of four came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We walked in and weren’t sure what to do because there was no host and it looks a bit like a cafeteria in there with high ceilings, very bright lights, and no booths...or division between the tables. Eventually a server came over and showed us to a table. There was a singer and pianist performing that night and they were wonderful. We ordered drinks and they were served in a reasonable amount of time but the canned and bottled beverages were presented unopened and without a glass, or ice. Our bottle of wine was opened at a nearby empty table and then plopped back on our table with the cork shoved back in. We were not offered a taste, nor was the wine poured for us. It was a rosé and we were not provided a wine chiller either. We ordered food, and it also came in a reasonable amount of time, and it was really delicious. My favourite was the Feta Saganaki. Really wonderful flavours. We shared the Exotic Crèpe for dessert and everyone loved it. Unfortunately the cappuccinos were not hot. It looked like there were only two servers working, and no bartender, so that could be why. When we were presented with the bill, there was a $40 charge added for the entertainment. We were never informed at any point that there would be a charge; not when I made the reservation, nor anywhere on the website, nor at the door or after we were seated. I asked the server if the $40 went to the musicians, and he said no, it went to the restaurant to pay the musicians (I assume a contractual amount), and we would have to tip the musicians extra if we wanted them to be paid more. In summary: good food, weak service, bad ambiance, and dodgy billing practices. I hope they can work out these problems, because the concept is interesting and the food is good. I’d recommend dimming the overhead lights, adding some pretty chandeliers, training the servers properly, and informing guests before the meal of the entertainment surcharge.
