Frites Alors was established in the 90s and has grown to 12 outlets in Montreal & Quebec City. It had been a while so we tried the restaurant on 9th just off of Masson. We ordered two (2) large poutines, the regular and the duck...poutine. We walked-in for a take-out. Reception was warm and the service was quick. Both our poutines were rather good. Fries at La Banquise are better but their cheese and sauce are quite good, I would say better than average. Where the whole thing falls apart is on price. No drinks, with tax, 2 poutines = $40? That is quite expensive. Worst than that, prices are higher (about +$2/item) in the restaurant vs advertised on their web site. Portion does not explain : I ordered “large” and I would say it is a regular elsewhere. Overall, a good meal but there is just no value here. Can’t recommend so an average rating here.
