It's been literally decades since I visited this place for a chili cheeseburger and fries. And I am happy to report it is as good as it was when I was in grad school. A Winnipeg institution, in St. B., Mrs. Mikes has the same...owners and the same tastes as ever. Served hot and fresh, with the burger nice and crunchy around the edges from being cooked on the flat-top, it ticks all the right boxes with its legendary chili sauce (although a bit more would have been nice). The bun is sufficiently gooey but I'd prefer something a little heartier. Fries are great if a bit generic, but always hot and crisp. It closes down from about mid-December till March (who wouldn't want to leave Winnipeg??) but if it's open, pay a visit - it is worth it!More
