We noticed this placed had opened up to replace the Zipang Provisions that was previously in the space. We hadn't seen any reviews of this place on OpenTable, Yelp or TripAdvisor, but I can happily say we were pleasantly surprised. I did book a table...via OpenTable for a weekend lunch reservation. When we arrived, we clearly didn't need it because we were the 2nd group there. We ended up trying the following: - Kids Combo - Very good. Not sure why this is listed as an "appetizer", but it's perfect for a kids menu dish. It's a combination plate that includes two breaded prawn tempura, two pieces of chicken kaarage, one onigiri rice ball, a serving of edamame and half an orange. My son is a picky eater, but he liked all of it. - Assorted Tempura - Good. Good portion size, light and crispy batter. - Salmon and Tuni Oshizushi - Very good. Good flavors, nicely presented, reasonable price. - Katsu Don - Very good. I ordered it because it was a signature item, and I thought it's probably one of the better katsudon I've had in a while. Good portion size, right balance of flavors. - Yakiudon - Below average. Considering up to this point, all the other dishes were nicely prepared and tasted great, this one fell short. Just seemed really sloppy and underflavored. Service was rather average. Nothing notably good or bad. Plenty of pay street parking in the area. Might be able to find free residential parking if you look hard enough and willing to walk a few blocks. Overall, a pleasant surprise with the quality of food (except the yakiudon). Being nearby, I'll probably visit this place more often. I'd rate at 3.75 stars. Note: I noticed my credit card receipt still stated Zipang Provision, so I don't know if the it's the same owner, staff or menu from before.
