Kitaya Japanese is a small restaurant perfectly suited for a casual lunch or dinner when dining solo or with a friend. The many smaller tables made it easy to relax and not worry that I was tying up a table when dining alone. The menu...is quite extensive but I chose the chicken teriyaki box as a good way to try a variety of items without having lots of leftovers. The chicken teriyaki box includes: tea, miso soup, green salad, eight pieces of California roll, a small side of rice, a medium-sized helping of chicken teriyaki and five large pieces of tempura, including two prawns. All of it was tasty and actually much better than I expected. The price for more food than I could eat: an amazing $7.95 I will be returning to Kitaya Japanese with visiting relatives later this month.
