The combination of Tibetan and Hakka food in a restaurant is certainly novel. And Norling has some very good food - most of which was ordered by other members of my group who managed to find the tasty stuff without the excessive breading that is...often present in the cuisine. The Hakka noodles and the Manchurian tofu, for example, were true delights. As were the dumplings - prepared perfectly either steamed or pan-fried. However, the menu was not clear as to what was breaded and what wasn't. I ordered a Tibetan chili chicken dish instead of the Hakka under the assumption Tibetan food would not be breaded - but it was, and a hakka chicken dish a friend ordered was not. Spice levels were very good - the momo dumplings come with a nice spicy sauce. Service was nice, food was slow to come probably because we overloaded their kitchen on short notice, took a bit of time to get the bills too. Calm room with no televisions, thank goodness. So a little more care with a descriptive menu and this place has a real chance to shine.
