Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon as we were at UBC for an appointment. It wasn’t very busy. We were asked to scan some QE codes to find the menu which is expected. But found the QR code sheets a lot stickier than...expected, which was a bit off putting. We tried the following brunch menu items - Chicken Waffles - OK. They only provide one large chicken breast which was OK, but a bit dry which happens with chicken breast. Waffles was a bit denser than expected too. - Smoked Salmon Bowl - OK. A very odd mix of smoked salmon bits (not slices), tater rots, arugula, poached eggs and hollandaise. Individually, each part was fine but not sure they go together as a dish. - Madrid Mussels - Good. Good sized mussels, good broth. Maybe a bit cheap with the chorizo, but still happy with it. - Fries - Very good. Probably the best dish. We ordered it as an add-on but it was the first thing finished. Light and crispy. Service was OK. Staff was friendly and met standard expectations. Some were probably new, so a bit slow given how quiet it was, but still acceptable. Overall, it was OK. If in the area I wouldn’t have problems going back, but wouldn’t have high expectations either.
