Took the shuttle from the Empress to Butchart Gardens, saw the amazing light show at the Gardens (12 Days of Christmas) and returned to Victoria to a very cold, windy night. It was about 8:15 pm and we were looking for a warm spot to...get a bowl of hot soup prior to returning to our hotel. As we passed by the Huntington Manor, the bright lights of the Hunters Club Bar and Grill caught our eye. It was late in the evening with only a few patrons in the restaurant. We always hate to arrive late (closing was at 9 pm), but 45 minutes was on the edge of being acceptable and the staff was very accommodating. They had exactly enough soup left to serve our group of 6, each couple split a wedge salad and tea and cocktails rounded out the meal. A great find, courteous service and soup that warmed our innards. Perfect way to finish out a wonderful day in Victoria.
