There was a time when Dairy Queen served the best Burgers. They used to Flame Grill the Beef Patty, then toast the Bun. Their Burgers were simple, but tasty. Now, I would hesitate to call what they serve, Burgers. I ordered the 1/2 Pound Flame...Thrower Burger Combo. When I received the meal, I was shocked. I couldn’t understand why the Burger was so hot, I could barely pick it up. Not only that, the sauce was all watery and soaked the wrapper to the point that the Burger practically was stuck to it. The Cheese was melted beyond belief. I asked the server why on earth my Burger was so deplorably greasy and messy. He mentioned that at this location (and perhaps other locations as well) it is their procedure to microwave the Burgers after they are put together, so they can “boost and warm it up a bit”. I know fast food restaurants aren’t known for quality, but I’ve never heard of a fast food restaurant stooping so low as to microwave their Burgers before serving. I also found out that Dairy Queen now pre cooks all Beef Patties and puts them in a warmer drawer until it’s ordered. That’s when I realized why they microwave the Burgers. Because the Beef Patties aren’t fresh off the grill, they aren’t as hot, so the Cheese doesn’t melt. By microwaving the Burgers, they heat up the Beef Patty, melt the Cheese and warm the Bun, all at the same time. You should never warm bread in a microwave, it totally ruins the bun. My Burger was completely disgusting, in looks and especially in taste. Because it was microwaved, it was the greasiest Burger I have ever had. The Sauce was running all over the wrapper. The Bun was so soggy from being microwaved and because of the running Sauce. I had to wait a minute before even biting into this gross Burger, because after being microwaved, it was scorching hot inside. When I complained to the staff member, all he said was “sorry about the messy Burger, can I bring you more napkins?” He also thanked me for my “feedback” and brought me a plate to put the Burger on, because you couldn’t even take it off the wrapper. What a joke. After a few bites, I tossed it. This was the worst and most pathetic excuse for a Burger I have ever had. Dairy Queen now officially ranks below McDonalds, for crappy Burgers, as far as I’m concerned. I would only stick to ordering desserts at this Dairy Queen location. I recommend staying far away from their Burgers.
