I have given this place a try a couple times now, so feel like it's time to review. The truth about this place is that it seems to be run by a couple guys that are not very experienced in the restaurant biz but are...trying to make a living. They have the regular fare on the menu, curries, thalis, paneer etc. Nothing is standout, everything is 'alright'. The lunchtime menu is priced similar to places in the neighbourhood and you get a quantity of food that will fill you. They make good basmati rice, and the curries are flavorful but perhaps missing some of the boldness one expects from really good Indian cuisine. Looking at evening pricing you could end up spending a lot of money if you want to try a variety of dishes along with the sides. These guys seem to really have a desire to be successful, hopefully they can improve quickly and find their niche. Some suggestions I would have : 1)Don't bother including the dessert with the lunch. It just isn't very good. Include twice the naan , because you get only a quarter piece with the lunch menu and it's not enough. 2)Offer more specific options on the lunch menu that people are familiar with. Chicken Curry is not telling me much. They do also have butter chicken but why not another. 3)Offer one of these curries with the Thali. They have a thali lunch with tandoori chicken as the meat option, I think one with a chicken korma, dansak, or lamb vindaloo would be better or perhaps additional options. 4)Try to look a bit happier with the world. I know the business is tough and it's hard to get by, but if you look miserable it doesn't help with the experience! 5)If someone asks for it to be spicy don't be shy. We asked for it, if it's too much that's our fault!More
