This was our first meal in Quebec and the waiter seemed a bit condescending but was polite. We were not prepared for the money exchange, figuring out tip and tax, etc. (We discovered most places did not want to take American cash). But we used...cash here and asked the waiter if they amount was correct because we did not want him to get shorted with the tip. He said it was correct with 15% and we left happy and stupid. When we got back to the hotel and figured it out, he had taken a little over 30% for his tip! Our fault for not being prepared - we felt a little foolish for being so naïve. It helped me to think he probably needed it. Food was okay - French onion soup really fantastic. Live and learn.
