Dining during covid obviously adds an extra element to consider - how safe is this restaurant? With wood partitions and spaced tables we were impressed at the length St Lawrence went to keep diners safe. And now the food. St Lawrence is currently offering a...3 course table d'hôte menu at $65. We started with mushroom ragout in puff pastry and bison tartare. Canard à l’Orange came with sliced duck breast and a small pie that looks like a mini Tourtiere but is shredded duck. Fabulous. The roasted leg of lamb came with a cool sausage-stuffed zucchini (yep) and was equally fab. St Lawrence's food constantly innovative without being stupid. Whenever you figure out what your dish is doing to look / taste like - they surprise you. The cocktail menu is modest with vodka apparently banished from the premises. (There must be a back story there?) The wine list remains sanely priced compared to say - every TopTable group restaurant. Combine all this with flawlessly exceptional cheerful service - well - to know St Lawrence is to love St Lawrence.
