Vancouver has experienced a boom in food truck culture in the past several years. I have to say that Mogu has taken the experience to another level. I've been to Mogu three times, and as much as I'd love to try the other items on...the menu, I cannot pull myself away from the Ebi Katsu Sandwich with a side of Chicken Karaage. The former is a wonderful hand made patty of big, juicy prawns, which somehow manages to remain intact as a beautiful panko covered, deep fried disc of deliciousness. With their own special tartar sauce, a big pile of folded iceberg lettuce, and a perfect bun, this is a seafood sandwich perfected. The crunchy panko, the creamy sauce, the wonderful texture and flavour of the prawns -- really, it's something to behold. Their Chicken Karaage is the best I've had -- anywhere. Nice and crunchy on the outside, but perfectly done and juicy on the inside. The sweet chili sauce is the perfect companion. It's a good thing that I don't work close to Howe & Dunsmuir (their usual location) -- I wouldn't be able to resist a daily visit.
