The last place we went for AYCE Sushi (Sushi Garden) was interesting and had decent food but the restrooms were disgusting and the poor maintenance drove us away. We looked a bit more to try to find somewhere where one could enjoy decently priced sushi...during this time of world wide panic and discovered the Tokyo Noodle Shop and are extremely happy we did. We looked at the online menu and were impressed by everything available and I called to verify that the AYCE is currently being offered and the times. The man on the phone said yes, gave me hours and reminded me that they are currently closed on Wednesdays. It did not dawn on me to ask what items on the regular menu are available and I could not find the special AYCE menu anywhere so I am posting the one we got today. The restaurant is at the end of a large building with ample parking. A hallway from the parking area leads past the restrooms and a number of tables to the front area with large glass windows overlooking a wide sidewalk along 61st. We were immediately greeted when we walked in the door and seated. Our server brought us water with lemon and took our drink orders. She asked if we wanted a la carte or AYCE and when we got the menu, we asked if there was a difference between the lunch menu and dinner menu. Lilly brought us both and let us know that Sashimi is available for dinner but not lunch for AYCE and there are a few other items that differ. We opted for dinner and are extremely happy. One reviewer commented that there are no descriptions or pictures and, while I have to admit that the basic ordering sheet does not have these things, when I asked to see the regular menu, Lilly happily brought one so I could read and see what was in the items I was ordering. This place is not the fancy "order from the ipad" place, it is "old school pen and paper with excellent food. We ordered Salmon Sashimi and a few other fish, some items of Sushi, some Maki Rolls, and a couple of Cones along with the three types of Tataki and some kitchen items. The Beef Tataki was divine, as was the Salmon. The Tuna was our least favorite but it was still great. The Chop Chop Sushi was so great we ordered extra. I was disappointed that Unagi was not available in any format as it is one of my favorites. My all time favorite fish is Hamachi and, despite having it on the menu, it was not available at this time (same for Spider Roll and Toro). We have found them available on the dinner menu at other places so it was upsetting but the quality of the food here made us get over it quickly. We enjoyed cocktails and beer with our meal and the total was $105 which, in our mind, was well worth the incredible meal and service. There were only two other couples there while we were there and the service was fantastic. We did not try the Ramen so we cannot comment on it. Although there was no mention of it, we asked if any desert was included and were told that Lilly would find out what flavor of ice cream was available. She returned to say Mango so I tried a scoop and it was a nice finishing touch for a perfect meal. A great meal and we will definitely be back. Re-reading our review, the only thing I can add again is how fantastic the service was. It has been a very long time since ANY server ANYWHERE has provided this quality of serviceMore
