Anyone addicted to chocolate, as I am, can't resist the amazing assortment of treats created by master chocolatier and pastry chef Lisa Gardin. On my first visit I took home Frank and Marc, the former bar consisting of chocolate caramel, wafers and spiced pecans, the...latter a delectable combination of bourbon caramel, marcona almonds and malt. My husband wasn't jealous of these sweet gents, since he happily devoured his cheesecake with a latte while I consumed a handmade passion fruit apricot ice cream sandwich. Our most recent visit introduced us to the newest line of chocolates, this time named for ladies, and we brought home Sue, a perfect combo of pistachio praline with sour cherries. There's a third line, "hipster bars", that are vegan and dairy/wheat-free. The bon-bon and truffle collections are also exquisite. We cleansed our palates after our latest chocolate binge with a couple of refreshing sorbets, tropical sangria and raspberry red wine. This bright 12-seater spot isn't in a touristy part of town, but it's really easy to find, just a few blocks north of the Main Street/Science World SkyTrain Station. Lisa and her staff are super friendly, happy to answer questions about the dazzling array of treats.
