Why is this restaurant not more well known? Probably because it is in a sprawling shopping mall in the extreme northwest of Edmonton near a super-highway. But friends and I went there to celebrate a birthday---mainly because one friend lives close by and she highly...recommended it. We were a group of five, so we ordered food to share. Everything was delicious! My experience of Vietnamese food was limited, Yet I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle flavours. (Not as spicy or hot as Thai food.) We ordered dishes to share, among them grilled chicken vermicelli, and a shrimp in black bean sauce with crunchy vegetables. The dishes were fresh and tasty. Nothing was re-heated in this restaurant! My favourite was the deep-fried pieces of tofu, not greasy but melt-in-your-mouth. The menu was expansive---too much to choose from! The interior is lovely---open and airy, with sleek yet comfortable chairs and tables. The service was really good without being overbearing. The highlight of the interior is a wall-sized photo-mural of Halong Bay in North Vietnam, after which the restaurant is named. The coastal area has astonishing rock formations. Time for a visit there!More
