So there is a reason why this place has as many negative reviews as the excellent reviews. There is also a reason why this very first review states that tips are 'mandatory.' Came here for a quick drink and I ordered a water and a...beer. The bill came to $10 - something, 7+ for the beer and 3+ for the water. The waitress asked us what she'd like to place on the tip button and was very insistent that we tip. I don't have an issue tipping my servers however as I felt a little insulted that I was charged 3+ dollars for a bottled water at a sit down Irish style pub (that is something you do at a good club or in Mexico/Cuba) I didn't want to tip. The blonde waitress was insulted when I told her to input the total of the bill without adding anything to the tip. She repeatedly questioned me on the reason why I didn't want to tip. She then proceeded to tell me that tipping in mandatory. I told her that I'm not tipping and that's final and she responded by stating that in Quebec people tip (in Ontario we don't charge for water). She ran my card through and it wasn't put in properly and that's when I was going to pay cash as I didn't want her holding on my card as she was being really rude and unpredictable. As my girlfriend was reaching in her purse to reach for the cash I asked for my card back and she treated me as a crook and said that she is not giving me my card back until I give her the cash. We gave her the money for our bill and she said that we are not getting anymore service. As I stated above there is a reason why this place has as many terrible reviews as excellent reviews and our experience echos the first reviewer. Stay away.
