I’ve been going to meat and bread for years, from their first popular location in Gastown to the multiple locations they have today. I feel their food is a hit or miss at times, not all the locations are consistent. This Robson location for example...was a bit of a let down compared to their early days in Gastown. We ordered their famous porchetta, as well as their turkey sandwich. The porchetta this time tasted a bit dry, and the bread was a bit on the hard side too. The turkey sandwich was very solid, the turkey was moist and classic thanksgiving dinner flavour combos. I remember before their pork was juicy, and packed with flavour. The bread was soaked with the juices and had a good chew to it. Service was good, there were only two groups of people in front of us. But mostly self serve style. I think I’ll stick to their Gastown location from now on.
