This past Saturday evening, majority of the patrons in the Happy Day Cafe, opted for the Lobster combination meal at $69.99 that includes two additional moderate size dishes. Our party of three chose Beijing Style Pork Chop and the other a Satay Sliced Beef &...Vermicelli Hot Pot from a large selection on the menu. I found the canner lobster cooked with ginger & green onions could have been a little more tastier. This made me wonder, if I should have asked for the lobster cooked with cream sauce. The Sweet 'n Sour Pork Chop was fine; however the Hot Pot was slightly dry and the beef tough. The dinner was preceded by a bowl of free soup made mainly with pork broth which was excellent! The red bean and tapioca dessert were excellent as well! It was a busy restaurant where families brought the children to eat various noticeably large plates of assorted Chinese noodles. It was difficult to get the attention of the waitresses, due to the fact that as soon as one table vacates; it has to be cleared off for the next family waiting for the table. Free parking is behind the restaurant. If you come early enough, you would likely find a parking spot. There are meter parking all along Kingsway; but the traffic and parking isn't any better!More
