We made reservations for a Friday night Dine Out Vancouver 2021. Upon entering the restaurant the interior decoration looked invited and cozy as we walked the hallway to the hostess desk. I loved the "Shaughnessy Restaurant" sign up enter. Hostess asked as to sanitize our...hands using their sanitizer before following her to table. With my husband and friend, they started with cocktail drinks while we checked the menu. There were no partition as the tables were far apart and looked liked 6 feet apart. I was almost awkward to see a restaurant without partitions but it was also nice. We ordered from the Dine Out Vancouver $35 menu. I ordered: 1) Shaughnessy salad - I usually order salad to start and this was really nice and light 2) Grilled Cedar Plank Steelhead - great sear mark and the steelhead was grilled perfectly. I love beets but I avoided the potato as my dietary lifestyle 3) Housemade strawberry sorbet with basil - This really nice, it wasn't too sweet but and was a palate cleanser. For the other appetizers, the soup of the day and the calamari was also good according to my husband and friend. If you want something warm and hearty, choose the soup. Feel like something friend and yummy, choose calamari. They both order the bbq baby back pork ribs. My husband did ask for my bbq sauce not because it was dry but he likes he bbq sauce more prominent. My hubby ordered the chocolate brownie for dessert and took a couple of bites of it and was really rich and delicious. It tasted almost flourless but unsure. The service was good and was nice chatting with the staff whenever she came by. It was a nice evening as the restaurant as it was my first time dining at Shaughnessy Restaurant. It was nice and I would come back again perhaps when the weather is nicer and after afternoon walk around Vandusen Garden we should stop by for dinner.
