We have gone here for years and they never disappoint. First off, if there is an award for the best waitress in the city, it belongs here with Elaine who is nothing short of amazing. Takes the orders for seven people at our table, doesn't...write anything down and she nails it. Add to that she is friendly and knowledgeable, and that she has worked here as long as I can remember....and yet still seems so young. The decor here is typically bright and Mexican, it's not a fancy place but there is a warmth to it. We came here with the family for Mother's Day, arriving at 5:00 when they opened. Itt is my opinion that they have the best soups in the city. If you go here you really should try the soup. I was disappointed it wasn't their Potato Jalapeño soup, but then Elaine brought out this Tomato and Cumin Soup ($6.00) that was absolutely incredible. I then had the Combination Plate ($18.00) which is half a chicken chimichanga, half a beef burrito, one seafood enchilada served with rice and beans. This is my go to dish here and I always leave here very satisfied and full. Papagayo has been around a long time, and they have consistently served good food at a good value combined with great service. If you haven't already you need to try this place.
