We were looking for Chinese food within walking distance to our hotel and my on-line searches kept showing the James Bay Fish and Chips. Even after reading the reviews we decided to try it out. The other reviewers were absolutely correct! Lovely owners, a “hole-in-the...wall” restaurant and the food was both great and “not so nice”. We ordered the Pork and Shrimp Wonton Soup, Ginger Beef with Chow Mein noodles and the House Special Chop Suey. Unfortunately, the broth in the Wonton soup was absolutely tasteless, even soy sauce didn’t help. It’s saving grace was the wontons were okay, the vegetables crispy and the BBQ pork was great. Thankfully our main dishes were amazing. The Chop Suey was hot, the vegetables plentiful and cooked to perfection. I would have given the review 5 stars if I had only scored the restaurant on their Ginger Beef. It was the best I have ever tasted. And, the dish was made even better because of there was extra spicy ginger sauce and it had absorbed into the noodles. The Ginger Beef and Chop Suey were a good combination.I would DEFINATELY go back for the Ginger Beef! I’d just skip the wonton soup.
