Kibune Sushi shows no signs of letting up in 2021, as it enters its 39th year. It is as favored now as when it opened its doors in July 1982. I go to the iconic Japanese eatery for many reasons, and for different types of...meal types, from a snack and a beer to a meal of a number of courses. This time it was to just pop in for a Californian roll - with real crab - and Japanese beer. Both still keep one below 20$, before tip. The same gracious welcome and service is evident in 2021 from the chef/owner & his nephew — who acts in a way as his joint chef, making the cooked foods from the kitchen at the back, as well as serving — has marked Kibune from its beginnings. A charming combination. It also caters to the many orders for takeout, especially since Covid restrictions. A good place to pop in for a snack, a more substantial meal or to pick up takeouts.
