This review is for their Dim Sum Lunch... Having been to their Dim Sum Lunches & Dinner several times, I have to say their overall standard is pretty stable and well kept! All the items are even in their taste and quality: Bean Curd Wraps...with Veggies & Meat in Oyster Sauce $5.35 4/5 stars The texture of the bean curd skin with the meat & veggies filling made perfect compliments; Tai Tung's version leans on having a bit more celery, which makes a refreshing flavour! Prawn Dumplings $6.75 3/5 stars The Dumplings skin is above standard compare to most dim sum restaurants, but alas the prawn filling, even though is very juicy but the prawns lacks the crunch / bounciness. Rice Flour Roll with Pork Liver $6.95 4/5 stars This is a specialty item for any Dim Sum Restaurants, even in Hong Kong not many places offer this item, at Tai Tung, their version is up to standard, especially the steamed rice roll, being very silky and smooth and not over steamed. The pork liver is just ever so slightly over cooked but still presented itself well, as it is very fresh. This is a very hard to make item and that is the reason why not many restaurants have it on their menu. Salted Pork Bone & Dried Veggies Congee $9.98 4/5 stars Again something very simple but requires a lot of knowledge and know how to make this congee authentic and flavourful. The Pork Bone is marinated with salt to give it that extra umami flavour, the dried veggies (usually dried Bok Choi) has to be washed very thoroughly to make sure there is no more grit. The Chef is able to do all the above outstandingly and made this simple yet wholesome Congee shines!! House Special Chicken with Thick Rice Noodles in Soup $8.98 (bowl) 4/5 stars This is their signature item: aka Salt Baked Chicken, this chicken dish originated in the Hakka Restaurants in Hong Kong, it is also a simple yet sophisticated item. Tai Tung has always been able to keep the standard throughout the years. The combination of the soup noodles with the chicken lends a new twist to this old standby! Yummy!! Service has always been good, very attentive and friendly, Michelle is especially great as she is always cheerful and interesting to talk to! Final Score: 3.8 stars Verdict: Recommend!!More
