Probably the WORST high tea experience I have ever had. The hostess didn't seem to know a thing about the teas that they served other than one being "different" from the other. This isn't helpful especially when you are selling an experience along with the...tea... the one thing you should know is the TEA. Once our order was taken tea and a plate of scones were brought out first after about 20 mins and we were never asked if would like water while we waited. The rest of the tower arrived at least 15 mins after our tea which was lukewarm at best by this point. The scones were good but served with a disappointing portion of jam and butter? A cold unspreadable serving at that. The three of us weren't sure who should be allotted the portion since it was so small. I've always had clotted or Devonshire cream served with scones at other tea houses and this was a big let down. Furthermore no one thought to offer our group any milk or sugar especially with one child in our party. This is something I had to get up and ask for myself. The tea got cold really fast and when I asked for more hot water I was met with a look of bemusement. It took an additional 15 mins to fulfill this request. I later saw that the tea seemed to be brewed in big pots and then poured into a smaller teapot, a process which is probably why it got so cold in the first place. Any other place I've been to has always added more hot water to the tea in the pot. The sandwiches were subpar and the bread was dry. I couldn't find the salmon on the salmon sandwich and was disappointed to see tuna salad on the tray...this is high tea not a bagged school lunch. Dessert were decent but honestly nothing special. I can get better quality at the T&T Bakery. Overall they were very cheap with their portions and tea and this is really annoying since you pay close to $40 for a high tea set with mandatory gratuity. We were never once asked if we needed anything. I had to excuse myself from the table to hunt down the hostess each time. There were other people there but it definitely wouldn't be considered busy. Everyone else seemed to have been checked on throughout their visit except our table. At the price you pay I expect more in terms of service and quality of food. This place was a huge let down and really not worth my money. I definitely won't be coming back and can't say I'd ever recommend this place to any of my friends or family.
