I travel a lot, stay in decent hotels- but few have fulfilled my fantasy like the Sylvia. We had a queen room facing the bay. The view was spectacular, the room was clean and neat with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The location is...ideal for beach or neighborhood walks- we found driving in downtown Vancouver a challenge. Next time we'll Lyft or Uber if we want to go away from the hotel. Regards eating choices: the hotels restaurant is excellent though limited in menu choices. No pastries for breakfast with coffee. The room service is excellent. There are several eating places within an easy walk, 2 to 3 blocks; the best we experienced was the Cactus Club, just a ways down the beach with beach front tables and a lot of good choices. Book the Sylvia, you'll be glad you did.
