Overall a lovely experience. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary there while on vacation from Ontario - included my aunt as well as a close friend and her husband. Our table was ready on time and we had enough space for each of us to...have our own tea pot (since we each wanted a different type of tea); as well as 3 x food services (1 for each couple; and a separate vegan service for my aunt). All the teas were delicious (and stayed nice and hot on their warmers), as were the scones (with clotted cream/jam), the sandwiches, and the variety of desserts. Nothing too exciting for our anniversary - just an added piece of chocolate that said "Happy Anniversary", but still nice to have it acknowledged. Our waiter did offer to take a photo of all of us at the table, which was lovely. Love that the tea service was on china provided by King George VI. There was an option to add some champagne for additional charge, which we did not have. We didn't feel rushed at all, had enough time to enjoy ourselves and leisurely eat our food and finish our tea. We took a full 2 hours that seemed to fly by, but again, didn't feel rushed. Staff were all friendly and helpful. There is a special children's menu, so a fun place to take a child who would enjoy something like this. Drawbacks - a choice of only 6 teas; they had several more variety of teas, but that added further cost to the service, so that was a bit disappointing. In addition we were seated close to the piano, and it was fairly full of people, so it was a bit too loud for decent conversation. It's in a huge hall, so the entire place is a bit loud - and in general people can walk through, so it's not in a secluded area.
