This is a gem of a restaurant. Most tourtists only know resort Cuban food and it gets a bad rap. But, authentic Cuban food is delicious and this precious resto lives up to that standard. We were greeted warmly. The restaurant is clean, cute and...has decent space between tables. The ladies room is adorable. There is great salsa and rumba music and video on a TV. There is a little bar and a dominos table that is open to but slightly secluded from the rest of the restaurant. The food is great, is served at a perfect temperature and unlike other Latin and Caribbean restaurants, it comes fast, but is still well paced. Portions are hearty. We shared the Cuban combo as an appetizer. Not one thing was bad on that plate. I had the ropa veija. It was delicious. Tender, well seasoned beef, Perfectly cooked rice, and plantains. I took about 40% of it home and it was great the next day. The Tres leches cake was served more as a trifle style than a cake, but was creamy. I had it with a cuban coffee, which was the perfect end to a great meal. Finally, the cocktails. Dreamy (fell asleep after) Daiquiri and refreshing mojito. I heard the Pina Colada is rich and potent too. Prices were reasonable particularly for the quality of the food. I will be a frequent flyer here. Hasta pronto La Bodequita!More
