Brought a group of 8 to K&M on a rainy Sat night to try something new + because Mescaleria couldn't accommodate our party. Location and space are unique. Staff is terrific... warm, helpful and fully informed. We had a variety of appetizers -sardines on toast,...cheese plate, chicken livers, tuna tartare, farmhouse terrine - all tasty, nicely presented. I had the lamb with polenta + peppers as a main - terrific. Others had pork belly, gnocchi, duck leg confit and mac-n-cheese which were great, the latter perhaps the weakest. We ended our meal with a selection of nice desserts + coffees. My only knock on our experience likely only applies with large groups. The kitchen capacity seems limited - our last entree probably came 5 minutes after our first. With a few glasses of wine or beer each, the tab per couple was under $100.... great value. My wife and I will return and sit at the bar around the kitchen.... all the staff are very friendly and we expect it would be a great dining and social experience. Vancouver is finally getting to a point where interesting restaurants can exist in interesting, less expensive and sometimes hip areas and clientele will now venture into these areas. Everyone in our group was impressed.
