After a rave review from a friend, I went to Joyce’s for lunch last month. It was a late lunch and I had not eaten breakfast so I was very hungry. I went into the restaurant and noted that it was small, very clean and...it smelled amazing. I ordered the chicken roti to go. When I got home I was so excited to eat the much anticipated meal! The roti came with a salad. I looked down at the salad and it was clear that the lettuce had not been washed. The dirt on it was visible. I threw the salad in the garbage but felt a sense of forgiveness towards the chef (perhaps because I was so hungry and perhaps because it came so highly recommended). I had the first couple of bites of the roti and felt that it was ok, but not as amazing as others that I had had and definitely not worth the rave review from my friend. I continued on with the roti for a bite or two more until I bit into a chicken bone. I pulled it out and it was a leg bone that had been broken in two. I opened up the roti and it was filled with broken chicken bones. I threw it out. I saw my friend today and immediately told him that he had no credibility with respect to restaurant recommendations. He told me that he too visited Joycee’s within the last couple of weeks and had the same experience as I did. He said that he had been going there for years and will now stop going there. For goodness sakes Joycee’s management, change back to what you have done so successfully in the past! I can not see how you will stay in business if you don’t do so immediately!More
