We came here on a Saturday night since every other place we called couldn't give us a table for 13. Unfortunately, the fact that the restaurant was more than half empty should have been a hint to us...I had never been at a Swiss Chalet...before, and it seemed that chicken and ribs was their specialty...especially when they mention in their menu that you can get long ribs or back ribs (back ribs are a bit more expensive but supposedly better). It took about an hour to get our main course; myself and two others in our group took the back ribs and boy were we disappointed. They sure weren't fall off the bone and they tasted like they were almost turning bad...big disappointment. Another person in our party said that the french fry sauce tasted like chemicals...the manager asked if he wanted gravy instead...what's the difference?!? But the gravy tasted better than the sauce...go figure! The ambiance in this restaurant reminded me of a waiting room in a hospital or clinic, and the beer selection is very scant. Even my water glass had a dark spot on the inside of it. Swiss Chalet will have to seriously rethink their strategy if they want to survive in today's resto market... In the end, they didn't charge me for my main course, but they did charge my friends even though they too said that the ribs weren't very good...
