So yesterday we went to Blue Fox Cafe, and had to get up super-early to beat the crowd. You can read our review about that place ... some highs and some lows. This morning, we were much more laid back ... we went to Avalon,...which is a small, family-run breakfast place just up the same street. We had the Avalon Breakfast (eggs and bacon and potatoes and toast) and the 3-egg omelet. Both were fresh and tasty, and prepared in the second. The omelet was great, with up to 4 ingredients that you choose. The sausage and bacon were both fine, and the oat bread that they make is quite nice with strawberry-rhubarb jam (that they also make). Sooo, nowhere near as classy or as hip as Blue Fox, but the food is quite good, and the place is WAY more laid back... so why get up so early in the morning to wait in line!?More
