When Cora's opened at this location I was delighted to have a great place where I could take friends for Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch. I have visited several times and always found the service and quality of food to be exceptional. I don't know what...has happened at this location but my visit this week was deeply disappointing. I suppose the first clue that something had changed was the lack of a line up at the door. My friend and I had arrived at 11:30 a.m. and were seated promptly. To our surprise, we had 3 different people ask us if we would like "coffee first" but it still took about 15 minutes before the coffee arrived. We ordered shortly after and then proceeded to wait for our food...we waited and waited. When almost an hour had passed we were prepared to leave However our waiter turned up and explained that "it's just taking time for the salad". We both found this odd but our food soon appeared. My Eggs Benny had a gelatinous look about them suggesting they were ready before the waiter was but I was so hungry by then, I was forgiving. However, I soon found a thin dark hair tucked under the English muffin. This was a total turnoff but I said nothing to my brunch guest, scraped the hair into my napkin and tried to focus on the accompanying fruit...I was famished after all and did not feel I could wait another hour for a new order. My guest remained baffled at my sudden disinterest in the eggs and our waiter soon arrived with the bill, announcing "That's the only thing I get done quickly!" At no time during our meal did the waiter pass by to ask "How is everything?" (something of a tradition at Cora's. Overall, it was such a disappointing visit that the next time I treat someone to Brunch in Clareview it will be at Humpty's or Earl's.
