This was my second time ordering takeout from Saigon Taste (it used to be a different Vietnamese restaurant at that location) and I was just as impressed as my first experience back in December. Due to the pandemic, indoor dining is banned and I craved...pho so ordered from here. I ordered two beef flank pho, two fried spring rolls and a papaya salad which comes with two skewers of 3 grilled prawns. The pho broth is deliciously aromatic and comforting. The beef is good quality and similar to portions elsewhere. They pack a generous amount of fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, sliced jalapeño and lime wedges and they also pack individual containers of hoisin and hot sauce combined, so you can recreate the whole experience of restaurant pho at home. The sides were also a pleasant surprise. I’m a sucker for a good fried spring roll and these were generous portions and perfectly cooked, served with a side of their homemade sweet chili/fish sauce. The papaya salad reminded of the ones I have eaten in Thailand (I haven’t been to Vietnam) - and the grilled prawns were a nice bonus. The salad and prawns are topped with crispy shallots and ground peanuts and a side of the same sweet chili/fish sauce. It was the perfect takeout meal for two on a cold rainy day.
