I don't know why this place is called "Paupers," because not many paupers can afford $6 for a cider. Or $14 for a sandwich. The atmosphere on the main level is fine, if you don't mind having a television in your line of sight. A...good collection of seating areas for various size groups. Service is spotty. it took us a very long time to get dessert orders in. A reasonable selection of drinks. A pretty long menu. But I can't say much about the food. I had a chicken apple and brie sandwich which supposedly had a arugula aoli on it. I could not detect the aoil and the amount of brie on the sandwich was negligible. And it was $14. However, they serve a drunken apple pie in a french onion soup dish, and it was quite delicious. There are better places in the Annex for this sort of pub experience.
