We decided to go her for a special occasion dinner. We haven't had a lot of fine dining experiences in the last 18 months, so this dinner felt that much more special. We had made reservations online a few days earlier. We arrived right at...opening, and went through the new standard COVID Passport check before being seated. As we were browsing the menu, the first thing we noticed was that the water glasses were completely spotless. It was a fall evening, so the sun shone through the window and that would normally highlight any scratch, water spot or lint on the glasses, but they were all pristine. I can't remember the last time I've noticed something like that. We ended up ordering a number of items including Sake Steamed Mushroom Medley, Smoke Miso Gyutan, Aburi Miso Salmon Roll, Sockeye Salmon Sanshozuke, Ebi Shinjo Bits, Duck Udon, Sablefish Yuan-yaki and Wagyu Red Wine Miso Stew. For every single dish, the plate is beautifully presented, simple, delicate, and perfectly balanced. We enjoyed every plate of food. Service was extremely professional, but still friendly and polite. No complaints with the service. Overall, a really nice meal that we thoroughly enjoyed, without feeling that we overpaid anything. Is it because we haven't had this level of meal for awhile? Maybe, but I would have no hesitation in going back.
