We arrived at 7:15 pm to a virtually empty restaurant. It remained that way until we left a 10:30 pm. In spit of the lack of customers, we found that it took an interminable amount of time to receive each portion of our meal. I understand leisurely dining, but three and a half hours is ridiculous. In addition, I had prearranged with the hotel to have the chef present a special 50th anniversary gift to my wife under a sterling silver server as if it were her dessert. Likely due to the fact that the meal had taken so long, the gift was presented by our waitress with the dessert, under a shabby kitchen warming cover. The chef probably had gone home. It really spoiled the effect that I had worked hard to set up. The food was good, but not up to the standard I have come to expect from the Velvet Glove.
