This was a 50-50 dining experience. My dining companion seemed to enjoy everything she had, while I only enjoyed one aspect of my main. The service was very good and attentive and the restaurant itself being in a glass box in the heart of all...the action in PDA is unique. I shared cheese croquettes, ordered the steak frites, and had a pear tart/torte for dessert. The cheese croquettes were a highfalutin mozzarella stick. They were OK. The steak frites was a miss for me. Hangar steak is tricky and can get chewy or rubbery quickly. Unfortunately, I was eating a squishy ball. The compound butter did nothing to save it. I am not sure if the steak itself was seasoned or if the butter alone was the seasoning. There was a mild hit of seasoning, but it unfortunately was one of the worst steak frites I have had in a while. The fries were good though. Crispy and once some more salt was added, very good. This is what saved the dinner from being a disaster for me. The portion size is decent and was perfect for me. If you are very hungry, it might not satisfy you though. The pear dessert was all over the place. There were some bites that were wonderful, but for the most part, it tasted like something someone tried to make for a church coffee hour for the first time. I love pear desserts, but was disappointed by the overall flavour and texture of this dessert. My friend had the burger. She said it was delicious. I wish I had that. The service was good. Attentive, professional, friendly without being intrusive or over the top, answered all questions about the food, and water, coffee and bread were always filled. Overall, the dining experience was about a 4/5, but the actual dinner was a 2/5 for me. I might go back to try another main and give it a second chance, but until I do that, I could only recommend the burger based on my companion's suggestion.
